The Host by Stephanie Meyer

In this book the concept was quite hard to get my head around in the first few chapters. However the outline of the story is that the earth has been invaded by a species that takes over the minds of their hosts while leaving their bodies intact. The story follows Wanderer, the invading ‘soul’ who has been given Melanie’s body, however there is one problem, Wanderer can still hear Melanie’s thoughts and sees images of her lost love, Jared. The adventure starts when Wanderer decides to go in search of the man Melanie loves.
The author gives the reader a good insight into the characters thoughts and feelings and I had a good connection with both Melanie and Wanderer (the two main characters). I feel the ending could have been explored a little more and there is definitely room for a sequel which I would look forward to reading. All in all I would give the book 6/10.
